Eat for Health

What should I eat for…?

Type a goal in plain words β€” like "foods to lower blood pressure" or "help me stay hydrated" β€” and get a real-food answer. Educational only; not a substitute for your doctor.

Important: This is general educational information and our opinion β€” we are not doctors, we don't diagnose, treat, or cure anything. Food is not a replacement for medicine. Talk with your doctor or a registered dietitian before making changes, especially if you take medication or have a health condition.

Eating plant-based, whatever your style

Vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, pescatarian β€” real food fits every plate. Here's how to cover your bases.

🌱 Vegan

No animal products. Cover protein (beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh, edamame), B12 (fortified foods or a supplement β€” this one matters), iron (lentils, spinach β€” pair with vitamin C), omega-3 (flax, chia, walnuts), and calcium (fortified plant milk, tofu, greens).

πŸ§€ Vegetarian

No meat, but eggs and/or dairy are in. Easier to hit protein, B12, and calcium. Still lean on beans, lentils, nuts, and whole grains so it's not just cheese and bread.

🐟 Pescatarian

Plant-based plus fish. A great heart-healthy pattern β€” just mind mercury in big fish (see seafood do's & don'ts) and favor salmon, sardines, and trout.

πŸ₯— Flexitarian

Mostly plants, meat now and then. The easiest, most affordable middle path β€” build meals around beans and veggies, treat meat as the side, not the star.

🌾 Gluten-free (celiac)

Naturally gluten-free real foods are everywhere: produce, beans, eggs, meat, fish, rice, potatoes, oats labeled GF. Watch for hidden gluten in sauces and processed foods.

πŸ’ͺ Higher-protein

Fill up on eggs, Greek yogurt, beans, lentils, fish, poultry, tofu, and cottage cheese. Spread protein across the day rather than one big serving.

One rule for every diet: the more of your plate that's whole, single-ingredient food, the better β€” no matter which label you wear.

Food is half the story

Even the best diet works better with movement. A daily walk lowers blood pressure and blood sugar, lifts your mood, and strengthens your heart and bones.
